Roy S. Eckerdt is a veteran public safety leader and consultant with more than 36 years of experience in law enforcement, crisis response, and cross-sector community collaboration. A retired Chief of Police and Executive Officer of the Wyoming Association of Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police, he has played a central role in advancing coordinated mental health and crisis response systems across rural and frontier communities.

He is the founder and principal consultant of Eckerdt Consulting, LLC, where he supports agencies in leadership development, Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) implementation, and the integration of prevention and behavioral health strategies into public safety systems. His work focuses on strengthening partnerships between law enforcement, healthcare, education, and community prevention organizations to build sustainable, humane crisis response systems.

Eckerdt currently serves as Board President of Crisis Intervention Teams International and has held leadership roles with the Wyoming Association of Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police, Yellowstone Behavioral Health, Healthy Park County, and Crisis Intervention Services. Known for his practical, systems-level approach and ability to build trust across disciplines, he brings real-world experience to advancing coordinated crisis care and community resilience in frontier regions.
